Free safety recall service for every Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury vehicle at Astro Ford on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Search by VIN to check your specific vehicle, browse by model to find your Ford, or review the active Do-Not-Drive Advisories below. All recall repairs at Astro Ford are free of charge regardless of vehicle age, mileage, or where you originally purchased your Ford.

Check Your Specific Vehicle

Enter your 17-character VIN to see only the recalls that apply to your exact Ford, Lincoln, or Mercury vehicle. We query NHTSA in real time. Your VIN is found on the lower left of your windshield, on your driver's door jamb sticker, or on your registration documents.

Active Do-Not-Drive Advisories

Critical recall advisories where Ford and NHTSA recommend the vehicle NOT be driven until the recall remedy has been performed. If your vehicle is included in any of these advisories, contact Astro Ford immediately — we can arrange mobile recall service, vehicle towing, or free interim loaner vehicles. Do not delay; these are the most severe recall categories Ford and NHTSA issue.

DO NOT DRIVE — Takata AirbagMultiple Models 2004–2014Ford Safety Recalls 15S21 / 17S42 / 19S01 / 21S05
Takata Airbag Inflator Rupture — Active Do-Not-Drive Advisory (Multi-Model)
Ford\'s active DO-NOT-DRIVE advisory covers all unrepaired vehicles equipped with non-desiccated Takata ammonium nitrate airbag inflators. Affected models include: 2005–2014 Mustang, 2005–2006 GT, 2004–2011 Ranger, 2006–2012 Fusion / Lincoln MKZ-Zephyr / Mercury Milan, and 2007–2010 Edge / Lincoln MKX. The defect arises from propellant degradation after prolonged exposure to high humidity and high temperature cycling — the Mississippi Gulf Coast is exactly the high-risk climate Takata identified. A degraded inflator may rupture during airbag deployment, sending sharp metal fragments toward vehicle occupants. NHTSA has confirmed 27 deaths and 400+ injuries in the U.S. linked to Takata airbags. Low-mileage and collector vehicles are NOT exempt — propellant degrades through humidity/temperature cycling regardless of vehicle use.
Parts are available now. Astro Ford can arrange mobile repair (we come to you), vehicle towing to the dealership, or free interim loaner vehicles. All repairs are free of charge. Recall 21S05 separately covers vehicles where dealerships may have installed obsolete Takata replacement inflators during prior collision/theft repairs — if your vehicle has had any prior airbag service, also verify against 21S05.

DO NOT DRIVE — Brake System2026 Transit / E-Transit / MaverickFord Safety Recall 26C07 (NHTSA 26V-090)
Brake Pedal Pushrod May Detach — Loss of Braking, Active Do-Not-Drive Advisory (March 2026)
In March 2026, Ford issued an active DO-NOT-DRIVE advisory for certain 2026 Ford Transit, E-Transit, and Maverick vehicles where the brake pedal pushrod may detach from the brake pedal assembly, causing complete loss of service braking. The defect was traced to a supplier assembly process error at the brake pedal supplier. Loss of service braking is one of the most severe mechanical failures possible — the parking brake remains functional but cannot stop a moving vehicle from cruising speed. The recall is the most recent Do-Not-Drive Advisory issued by Ford and applies to vehicles still owned by initial dealers, fleet operators, RV upfitters, and individual buyers.
Astro Ford can arrange mobile recall service or vehicle towing for affected vehicles. Dealers inspect and replace the brake pedal pushrod assembly free of charge. Free interim loaner vehicles are available. Do not drive the vehicle until the remedy has been performed.

DO NOT DRIVE — Suspension2021–2025 BroncoFord Safety Recall 25S48
Lower Control Arm May Fracture — Loss of Steering Control, Active Do-Not-Drive Advisory
Ford has issued an active DO-NOT-DRIVE advisory for certain 2021–2025 Ford Bronco vehicles where the front lower control arm (LCA) may fracture due to a manufacturing defect in the supplier-produced control arm. A fractured LCA causes immediate loss of steering control of the affected wheel, with substantial risk of crash. The Bronco\'s body-on-frame chassis with significant front suspension travel makes this defect particularly consequential during off-road or high-stress driving conditions where the LCA experiences peak loading. Until the LCA has been replaced, owners are advised not to drive the vehicle.
Astro Ford can arrange mobile inspection, vehicle towing to the dealership, and free interim loaner vehicles. Dealers replace the lower control arm free of charge. Do not drive the vehicle until repaired.

Notable Active Recalls

High-impact recalls currently affecting Ford owners across the lineup, beyond the active Do-Not-Drive Advisories above. Includes modern Mustang Mach-E rollaway and electronic door latch issues, the 1.28 million-vehicle Fusion / Lincoln MKZ front brake hose recall, the 1.0L EcoBoost engine failure recall affecting EcoSport and Focus, the multi-model shifter cable bushing rollaway family, and the 19-model rearview camera software recall. Always run your specific VIN to determine exactly which recalls apply to your vehicle.

Rollaway Risk — Modern2021–2025 Mach-E + 2022–2025 MaverickFord Safety Recall 25C69 (NHTSA 25V-863)
Integrated Power Module May Cause Vehicle Rollaway — 88,000+ Vehicles
On certain 2021–2025 Ford Mustang Mach-E vehicles (88,064 units), 2022–2025 Maverick, and other Ford lines, an Integrated Power Module (IPM) software fault may cause the vehicle to roll despite the transmission being in Park, particularly during the early stages of an auto-shift event. The Mach-E is a battery-electric vehicle where rollaway behavior differs from ICE vehicles — the lack of engine braking when the high-voltage battery contactor opens makes proper Park engagement critical.
Dealers update the IPM software via dealer-applied or over-the-air update, free of charge. Until repair, owners are directed to use the parking brake every time the vehicle is parked.

EV-Specific Lockout Risk2021–2024 Mustang Mach-EFord Safety Recall 25S65
Electronic Door Latch May Lock Occupants Inside — 197,000+ Vehicles (12V Battery Lockout Risk)
On approximately 197,432 Ford Mustang Mach-E vehicles (model years 2021–2024), if the 12V auxiliary battery becomes depleted while the vehicle is occupied, the electronic door latches may not function and occupants may be unable to exit the vehicle from inside. The Mach-E uses electronic door latches with no traditional mechanical handle visible from inside — the door release is a button that requires 12V power to function. This is a uniquely modern EV recall — the issue would not exist in vehicles with mechanical door latches.
Dealers update the body control module software via dealer-applied or OTA update to extend 12V battery preservation logic, free of charge. Mach-E owners should familiarize themselves with the manual interior door release lever (lower forward door pocket) until the recall has been completed.

Brake Risk — 1.28M Vehicles2013–2018 Fusion + Lincoln MKZFord Safety Recall 23S12 (NHTSA 23V-162)
Front Brake Hoses May Leak — 1.28 Million Vehicles Affected
On approximately 1.28 million 2013–2018 Ford Fusion and Lincoln MKZ sedans (built February 3, 2012 to July 19, 2017), inadequate testing during the design process means the front brake hoses may leak due to normal steering and suspension travel. Significant suspension and steering input can cause the brake hose to rupture, causing brake fluid loss and increased brake pedal travel. The vehicles are equipped with two isolated brake circuits, allowing safe stopping if only one circuit is leaking, but a leaking front brake hose can extend stopping distance and require greater pedal effort.
Dealers replace both front brake hoses with hoses made from stronger material and modify hose routing/ride-height sensor if equipped, free of charge. Reimbursement is available for owners who paid for repairs prior to the recall announcement. Owner notification letters mailed June 27, 2023.

Engine Failure (1.0L EcoBoost)2018–2022 EcoSport + 2016–2018 FocusFord Safety Recall 23S64 (NHTSA 23V-905)
Oil Pump Drive Belt Tensioner May Fracture — Engine Damage / Engine Assembly Replacement
On certain 2018–2022 Ford EcoSport (1.0L Fox EcoBoost only) and 2016–2018 Ford Focus (1.0L) vehicles, the engine oil pump drive belt tensioner arm may fracture or separate, and/or the oil pump drive belt material may degrade and lose teeth, resulting in loss of engine oil pressure. The 1.0L Fox EcoBoost uses an unusual wet-belt-in-oil oil pump drive design where the toothed belt runs in engine oil — when the belt deteriorates, debris clogs the oil pickup screen leading to oil starvation, engine damage, and engine seizure. Ford has authorized dealers to replace the entire long block engine assembly (engine + turbocharger) as an interim repair if engine failure has already occurred.
Dealers replace the oil pump tensioner assembly and oil pump drive belt with redesigned parts free of charge. If engine failure has already occurred, full long block engine assembly replacement is authorized free of charge including parts and labor. Owner notification letters mailed August 11, 2025. Final remedy parts began Q1 2025.

Park Outside Advisory — Fire Risk2018–2020 F-150 (5.0L V8)Ford Safety Recall 25S77
Engine Cup Plug May Detach — Coolant/Oil Leak Fire (Park Outside)
On certain 2018–2020 Ford F-150 vehicles equipped with the 5.0L Coyote V8 engine, an engine block cup plug may detach, allowing coolant or oil to leak onto hot exhaust components and increasing the risk of an underhood fire. Owners are directed to park the vehicle outdoors away from structures and other vehicles until the recall remedy has been performed — this is a Park Outside Advisory because the fire risk extends to vehicles parked unattended. The 5.0L V8 (2018–2020) is the same Coyote V8 family used in 2018–2020 Mustang GT, but the F-150 application uses different cup plug specifications.
Dealers inspect and replace the engine cup plug as needed, free of charge. Until remedy is performed, park the vehicle outdoors away from structures.

Multi-Model Rollaway Family2013–2021 Escape / C-Max / Fusion / Transit Connect / EdgeFord Safety Recall 22S43
Transmission Shifter Cable Bushing May Detach — Vehicle Rollaway Risk Across 5 Models
On certain 2013–2019 Ford Escape, 2013–2018 C-Max, 2013–2016 Fusion, 2013–2021 Transit Connect, and 2015–2018 Edge vehicles, the bushing that attaches the shifter cable to the transmission may degrade or detach. A damaged or missing bushing may prevent the vehicle from shifting into the intended gear and may allow the vehicle to roll after the driver selects "Park" because the transmission is not actually in Park even though the shifter indicates it. This is one of the most extensive multi-model rollaway-risk recalls Ford has issued.
Dealers replace the under hood shift cable bushing and add a protective cap over the bushing, free of charge. Until repair, owners are directed to use the parking brake every time the vehicle is parked.

This recall affects 19 distinct Ford and Lincoln model lines, making it one of the broadest single recalls Ford has ever issued.
Dealers update the rearview camera software, free of charge. Owner notification letters mailed September 4, 2025.

Ford Recall FAQs

Common questions about Ford safety recalls, Customer Satisfaction Programs, Park Outside Advisories, Do-Not-Drive Advisories, and how Astro Ford services every recall regardless of where you originally purchased your vehicle.

How do I check if my Ford has an open recall?

Enter your 17-character VIN into the checker on this page (queries NHTSA in real time), or check directly at nhtsa.gov/recalls or Ford\'s own recall tool at ford.com/support/recalls.

Your VIN is found on the lower left corner of your windshield (visible from outside), on your driver\'s door jamb sticker, or on your registration and insurance documents. Astro Ford\'s service department can also run VIN-specific recall verification for any Ford, Lincoln, or Mercury vehicle.

Are Ford recall repairs free?

Yes. By federal law (Highway Safety Act of 1970), all manufacturer-issued safety recall repairs are performed free of charge by the manufacturer covering both parts and labor. This applies regardless of whether you bought your Ford new or used, where you originally purchased the vehicle, or how many owners the vehicle has had.

If you previously paid out of pocket to fix an issue that was later tied to a recall, you may be eligible for a refund — contact Ford Customer Service at 1-866-436-7332 or ask your service advisor at Astro Ford for the reimbursement procedure.

Do Ford recalls expire?

Safety, compliance, and emissions recalls do not expire. Ford is required by federal law to repair these defects free of charge regardless of the vehicle\'s age or mileage, and regardless of how many owners the vehicle has had. Active Takata airbag recalls from 2015 (covering 2005–2014 vehicles, now over 20 years old) are still being performed today free of charge.

Customer Satisfaction Programs (which are separate from safety recalls) may have time and mileage limitations.

Can I still drive my Ford if it has an open recall?

It depends on the recall type. Most recalls allow continued driving while awaiting a repair appointment — the risk is present but not immediate. However, some recalls carry a Do-Not-Drive Advisory or a Park Outside Advisory, both of which require specific precautions.

Currently active Ford Do-Not-Drive Advisories include: (1) the Takata airbag inflator recall covering 2005–2014 Mustang, 2005–2006 GT, 2004–2011 Ranger, 2006–2012 Fusion / MKZ-Zephyr / Mercury Milan, and 2007–2010 Edge / MKX, (2) the 25S48 Bronco lower control arm recall, and (3) the March 2026 26C07/26V090 Transit / E-Transit / Maverick brake pedal pushrod recall.

Always check the specific recall remedy description for your exact vehicle. When in doubt, contact Astro Ford or Ford Customer Service at 1-866-436-7332.

What is the difference between a safety recall and a Customer Satisfaction Program?

A safety recall is a federally mandated NHTSA-registered campaign for confirmed safety defects. Ford must repair these free of charge with no expiration date, and they appear in the NHTSA recall database at nhtsa.gov.

A Customer Satisfaction Program (CSP) is a Ford-issued goodwill program for issues that may not rise to the legal definition of a safety defect but still warrant Ford-funded repair. CSPs may have time and mileage limitations and do not appear in NHTSA.gov. Examples of major CSPs include the 14M01, 14M02, and 19N08 DPS6 PowerShift transmission programs that affected 2012–2018 Focus and 2011–2018 Fiesta.

Both safety recalls and CSPs are performed free of charge at any authorized Ford dealer including Astro Ford.

What is a Park Outside Advisory?

A Park Outside Advisory is a Ford recommendation that you should not park your vehicle inside a structure (garage, carport, or attached structure) until the recall remedy has been performed. The advisory is issued for recalls that involve fire risk while the vehicle is parked and unattended — a fire could spread from the vehicle to the structure or adjacent vehicles.

Currently active Park Outside Advisories include: the 25S77 recall on certain 2018–2020 F-150 5.0L V8 vehicles (engine cup plug fire), the 22S36 / 22S48 recall on certain 2022 Expedition vehicles (battery junction box fire), and the 25S30 recall on certain 2018–2020 Expedition vehicles (engine cup plug fire). You can continue driving the vehicle but should park outdoors away from structures and other vehicles.

What is a Do-Not-Drive Advisory?

A Do-Not-Drive Advisory is the most severe recall warning Ford and NHTSA can issue. It means the safety risk is severe enough that the vehicle should not be driven at all until the recall has been performed.

Currently active Ford Do-Not-Drive Advisories include: (1) the Takata airbag inflator recall covering 2005–2014 Mustang, 2005–2006 GT, 2004–2011 Ranger, 2006–2012 Fusion / MKZ-Zephyr / Mercury Milan, and 2007–2010 Edge / MKX, (2) the 25S48 Bronco lower control arm recall, and (3) the March 2026 26C07/26V090 Transit / E-Transit / Maverick brake pedal pushrod recall.

Astro Ford provides mobile recall service (we come to you), vehicle towing to the dealership, and free interim loaner vehicles for Do-Not-Drive Advisory recalls. Contact us before driving the vehicle. Free of charge regardless of vehicle age or mileage.

Does a recall affect my Ford\'s resale value?

A completed (closed) recall does not affect resale value — most buyers and dealers expect normal manufacturer service history including completed recalls.

An open (unaddressed) recall, however, can complicate resale: most franchised dealers cannot sell a used vehicle with an open Do-Not-Drive Advisory, and informed private buyers will check NHTSA.gov for open recalls before purchase. Closing all recalls before sale is the safest path.

Astro Ford can complete any open recalls free of charge before you list your Ford for sale, and can provide written documentation of completed recall service to share with prospective buyers.

What if I bought my Ford from a different dealer or used? Will Astro Ford still service the recall?

Yes. Ford safety recall service is free regardless of where you originally purchased your vehicle — including private-party purchase, auction purchase, out-of-state purchase, or purchase from a non-Ford dealer.

By federal law, any authorized Ford dealer must perform recall service at no cost. Astro Ford services Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury recalls across the Mississippi Gulf Coast (D\'Iberville, Biloxi, Gulfport, Ocean Springs, Pascagoula, Long Beach, Bay St. Louis, Diamondhead, and surrounding communities) regardless of original point of purchase, current registration state, or vehicle ownership history.

What if my Ford was discontinued? Can I still get recall service?

Yes. Ford continues to provide free safety recall service on discontinued models including Fiesta (discontinued 2019), Focus (2018), Fusion (2020), Taurus (2019), Flex (2019), C-Max (2017), EcoSport (2022), GT 2nd-gen (2022), Crown Victoria, Transit Connect (2023), and others.

Recall obligations transfer with the vehicle for the life of the vehicle, not the production status of the model line. Astro Ford services all Ford safety recalls regardless of whether the vehicle is currently in production — including the active Takata airbag Do-Not-Drive Advisory for vehicles up to 22 years old.
