Brake Booster Pushrod Retain Spring May Be Missing — Sudden Loss of Brakes
On certain 2025 F-250, F-350, F-450, and F-550 Super Duty trucks built March 19 through May 4, 2025, at Kentucky Assembly Plant, the brake pedal assembly may have been built without the retain spring that secures the brake booster pushrod. Without the spring, the pushrod can disconnect from the brake pedal, allowing the pedal to swing freely and causing a sudden complete loss of brake function with no warning. NHTSA issued a Do Not Drive advisory. Approximately 2,345 vehicles affected.
Owners are advised not to drive the vehicle until inspected. Dealers inspect and repair the brake pedal assembly free of charge. Owner letters mailed June 20, 2025.

Steering Column Upper Shaft May Detach — Loss of Steering Control
On certain 2020–2021 F-250, F-350, and F-450 Super Duty trucks built at Kentucky Truck Plant prior to October 1, 2020, the steering column upper shaft may not meet the required anti-pull-apart strength specification. Under stress, the shaft can extend or fully separate, resulting in a complete loss of steering control. The defect is traced to a single primary staking process used before a second staking was added in February 2021. Approximately 115,539 vehicles affected.
Dealers inspect the steering column upper shaft and repair or replace it as necessary, free of charge. Interim letters mailed October 6, 2025; final remedy letters mailed February 20, 2026.

Steering Column Shifter May Detach — Rollaway Risk
On certain 2025 F-250, F-350, and F-450 Super Duty trucks built December 14, 2024 through February 5, 2025, the steering column shifter may have been improperly welded to the steering column. A detached shifter prevents the driver from shifting into Park, which can result in vehicle rollaway and increase the risk of a crash. The supplier weld defect was traced to two specific Nexteer part numbers built with misaligned welds. Approximately 11,745 vehicles affected.
Dealers inspect the steering column serial numbers and replace the steering column as necessary, free of charge. Owner letters mailed April 28, 2025.

Aluminum Driveshaft May Fracture — Loss of Drive Power
On certain 2017–2022 F-250 and F-350 Super Duty trucks equipped with gasoline engines and aluminum driveshafts, underbody heat and noise insulators may loosen and contact the aluminum driveshaft. Sustained contact damages the driveshaft, which can fracture during operation. A fractured driveshaft causes loss of drive power, can contact the road and result in loss of vehicle control, or can allow rollaway when parked without the parking brake engaged.
Dealers inspect and repair the driveshaft as necessary and properly attach the underbody insulators, free of charge. Owner letters mailed April 7, 2022.

Post-Crash Carpet Fire Risk From Seat Belt Pretensioner Sparks
On certain 2017–2019 F-250, F-350, F-450, and F-550 Super Duty SuperCrew Cab trucks with carpet flooring, sparks from a deployed front seat belt pretensioner during a crash may ignite the carpet or carpet insulation in the B-pillar area. A fire can spread through the cabin and increase occupant injury risk. Affects approximately 490,574 SuperCrew trucks built at Kentucky Truck Plant October 8, 2015 through October 29, 2019.
Dealers apply heat-resistant foil tape to the carpet and carpet insulation and modify the B-pillar trim panel sound deadener, free of charge. Recall began January 20, 2020.

Transmission Park Rod Actuating Plate Damaged — Rollaway Risk
On 2017 F-250 Super Duty trucks equipped with the 6.2L gasoline engine and 6R100 six-speed automatic transmission built October 9, 2015 through March 30, 2017, the transmission may have a damaged park rod actuating plate. Damaged plates prevent the transmission from achieving mechanical Park even when the shifter is fully in Park, allowing unintended vehicle movement and rollaway. Failed FMVSS 102 and 114 compliance. Approximately 48,443 trucks affected.
Dealers inspect the park rod actuating plate and replace it if necessary, free of charge. Recall began June 1, 2017. Owners advised to engage parking brake every time until repair completed.

Door Latches May Freeze or Cables May Kink — Doors Open While Driving
On 2015–2017 F-150 and 2017 F-250, F-350, F-450, and F-550 Super Duty trucks, water can enter the door latches and freeze, or the door latch actuation cables can kink. Either condition can prevent doors from closing, prevent doors from opening from inside the vehicle, or allow doors to open while driving. Approximately 1.34 million vehicles total across F-Series. Customer Satisfaction Program 18N03 extends related coverage on 2017–2018 Super Duty through October 31, 2028.
Dealers install protective water shields over the door latches, lubricate latch components, modify lock rod grommets, and inspect and repair kinked actuation cables, all free of charge. Recall began October 12, 2018.
