Ford Gold Certified is the highest tier of the Ford Blue Advantage certified pre-owned program. To earn Gold Certified status, a used Ford must be less than 6 years old with fewer than 80,000 miles, pass a 172-point inspection performed by Ford factory-trained technicians and clear a CARFAX Vehicle History Report. Each Gold Certified vehicle includes a 12-Month/12,000-Mile Comprehensive Limited Warranty covering more than 1,000 components and a 7-Year/100,000-Mile Powertrain Limited Warranty — both backed by Ford Motor Company.

The 172-point inspection is a comprehensive evaluation performed by Ford factory-trained technicians. It covers the engine and powertrain (engine starts, idle quality, acceleration, transmission shift quality, drive axle and transfer case operation), brakes, steering and suspension, cooling and fuel systems, fluids (engine oil, coolant, brake fluid, transmission fluid and more), body panels and exterior condition, glass and outside mirrors, lights, interior trim and seats, sunroof and windows, safety systems including airbags and seat belts, electronics and audio, plus a module self-test for all CMDTCs. Any item that doesn’t pass is repaired or replaced with new Ford Motorcraft^® or Ford Authorized Remanufactured parts before the vehicle is offered for sale.

Ford Gold Certified vehicles include two layers of warranty coverage. The 12-Month/12,000-Mile (whichever comes first) Comprehensive Limited Warranty covers more than 1,000 components and begins after the original Ford New Vehicle Limited Warranty expires or on the Gold Certified purchase date, whichever comes later. The 7-Year/100,000-Mile (whichever comes first) Powertrain Limited Warranty is calculated from the original in-service date and covers the engine, transmission and drive components. Both warranties are backed by Ford Motor Company.

Yes. The 7-Year/100,000-Mile Powertrain Limited Warranty is fully transferable to future owners at no cost — which can support the resale value of your Gold Certified Ford if you ever decide to sell.

Any Ford-branded vehicle up to 6 years old with under 80,000 miles can be Gold Certified, provided it passes the 172-point inspection and CARFAX history check. Common Gold Certified models include the F-150, F-250 and F-350 Super Duty, Bronco, Bronco Sport, Explorer, Expedition, Escape, Edge, Mustang, Ranger and Maverick. Fully electric Ford models like the Mustang Mach-E and F-150 Lightning route to Ford EV Certified instead.

The primary differences are eligibility, inspection depth and warranty length. Gold Certified is reserved for Ford vehicles up to 6 years old with under 80,000 miles, requires a 172-point inspection and includes a 12-Month/12,000-Mile Comprehensive Warranty plus a 7-Year/100,000-Mile Powertrain Warranty. Blue Certified accepts any make or model up to 10 years old with under 150,000 miles, requires a 139-point inspection and includes a 90-Day/4,000-Mile Comprehensive Warranty. Both are backed by Ford Motor Company and include 24/7 Roadside Assistance and the 14-Day Money-Back Guarantee.

If your Gold Certified vehicle isn’t the right fit, you can return it within 14 days or 1,000 miles — whichever comes first — and Astro Ford will work with you to find a different Ford Blue Advantage vehicle. The vehicle must be returned in the same condition as sold (excluding normal wear and tear), without a lien or other encumbrance, and the original trade-in is not returned. Complimentary Ford Roadside Assistance is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year throughout the warranty period. Services include towing, fuel delivery, battery jump-starts, flat tire changes and lockout assistance.
