When to Schedule an Inspection

A multi-point inspection is included free with every service visit at Astro Ford — oil changes, brake service, tire rotation, and any other maintenance. There’s no need to schedule it separately. Every time you bring your Ford in, we perform a full check and report our findings.

We also recommend a standalone inspection before long road trips, before and after hurricane season, when buying a used Ford, and at any mileage milestone (30K, 60K, 90K, 120K). On the Gulf Coast, the combination of heat, humidity, salt air, and rough roads means components wear faster than the national average — regular inspections catch problems when they’re cheap fixes instead of expensive repairs.

What a Multi-Point Inspection Catches

Most vehicle problems develop gradually. An inspection catches issues while they’re still minor:

Brake pads approaching minimum thickness
Tires with uneven wear or low tread depth
Battery losing charge capacity before it strands you
Coolant or brake fluid at low or contaminated levels
Belts and hoses showing wear before they fail
Wiper blades degraded before a storm hits
Quick Lube Shop
Cursory Glance at Best
Basic fluid level check
No Ford-specific knowledge
Brakes rarely actually measured
Often used to upsell unnecessary work
No Inspection
What You’re Risking
Small problems become expensive
Brake pads wear to metal = rotor damage
Belt breaks = roadside emergency
Dead battery in a Gulf Coast parking lot

Our multi-point inspection is genuinely informational — we report what we find, you decide what to address. There’s no pressure. Items are categorized as “needs attention now,” “watch for next visit,” or “all good.” We’d rather you know about a $200 brake pad replacement now than a $600 brake pad + rotor replacement in 6 months.

Astro Ford Service Center

Located at 10350 Auto Mall Pkwy in D’Iberville, MS — directly off I-10 at Exit 41. Multi-point inspection is free with every service visit. Walk in for a standalone inspection anytime during service hours.

Service Hours: Monday–Friday 7:30 AM–6:00 PM, Saturday 8:00 AM–4:00 PM. Walk-ins welcome. Add an inspection to any oil change or service visit — it’s included at no extra charge.

Why Inspections Matter on the Gulf Coast

Gulf Coast conditions are harder on vehicles than most parts of the country. Heat degrades batteries, belts, and hoses faster. Humidity accelerates brake fluid contamination. Salt air corrodes exposed metal components. Rough roads wear suspension joints and knock alignment out. A multi-point inspection tailored to these conditions catches issues that generic checklists miss.

We also recommend a pre-hurricane-season inspection each May/June. Check battery health (dead batteries are the #1 roadside call during evacuations), wiper blades, tire tread, coolant level, and overall vehicle readiness. A 15-minute inspection gives you confidence your Ford is ready when you need it most.

How much does a Ford multi-point inspection cost?
The multi-point inspection is free with every service visit at Astro Ford. Whether you come in for an oil change, tire rotation, brake service, or any other maintenance, we perform a full inspection and report our findings at no extra charge. Standalone inspections are also available — walk in anytime during service hours.
What does a Ford multi-point inspection include?
We check over 30 points including brake pad thickness and rotor condition, tire tread depth and pressure, battery CCA and charge state, all fluid levels and condition (oil, coolant, brake, transmission, power steering, washer), serpentine belt and hose condition, wiper blades, air filters, all lights, and visible suspension components. You receive a report categorizing each item.
How often should I get a vehicle inspection?
At minimum, every time you get an oil change (every 7,500–10,000 miles). We also recommend a standalone inspection before long road trips, before and after hurricane season, when buying a used Ford, and at major mileage milestones (30K, 60K, 90K, 120K). Gulf Coast conditions warrant more frequent attention than milder climates.
Will I be pressured to buy repairs during the inspection?
No. Our inspection is informational — we report what we find, you decide what to address and when. Each item is categorized as “needs attention now” (safety or immediate concern), “watch for next visit” (wearing but not urgent), or “all good.” We provide photo and video documentation so you can see exactly what we’re talking about.
How long does a multi-point inspection take?
About 15–20 minutes when performed alongside another service. A standalone inspection may take 20–30 minutes since the vehicle needs to be put on a lift. We perform the inspection while your other service is being completed, so it doesn’t add wait time to your visit.
Is a multi-point inspection the same as a state inspection?
No. Mississippi does not require annual state vehicle inspections. A multi-point inspection is a voluntary service performed by our technicians to assess the overall health of your vehicle. It covers far more than a typical state inspection would — including fluid condition, battery health, brake measurements, and belt wear that most state inspections don’t check.
Should I get an inspection before buying a used Ford?
Absolutely. A pre-purchase inspection can reveal hidden issues that affect the vehicle’s value and safety. We check everything a multi-point covers plus additional items like frame condition, evidence of previous accident repair, fluid leak sources, and drivetrain condition. The cost of an inspection is tiny compared to buying a vehicle with unknown problems.
Where can I get a Ford multi-point inspection near me?
Astro Ford Service Center at 10350 Auto Mall Pkwy in D’Iberville, MS — minutes from Biloxi, Gulfport, Ocean Springs, and Pascagoula. Free with any service visit. Walk-ins welcome for standalone inspections. Photo and video report included.
