Standard 2.3L EcoBoost I-4 produces 315 hp / 350 lb-ft, paired exclusively with a 10-speed automatic transmission. Available as Fastback (coupe) or Convertible. Every Mustang is rear-wheel drive with the same 12.4" digital cluster + 13.2" SYNC 4 touchscreen and Ford Co-Pilot360 standard.
The 2026 Mustang EcoBoost includes the magnesium-framed panoramic curved display (12.4" digital cluster + 13.2" SYNC 4 touchscreen with Google built-in), wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, Ford Co-Pilot360 with Pre-Collision Assist and Lane-Keeping, selectable drive modes, and one year of Ford Connectivity Package. The 2.3L EcoBoost's Modular Power Cylinder architecture maximizes turbocharged efficiency.
The 2026 Mustang offers six trims spanning $32K-$69K. EcoBoost trims (315 hp turbo I4) are auto-only and Convertible-available. GT and GT Premium pack the 5.0L Coyote V8 (480 hp) with manual or auto transmission. Dark Horse and Dark Horse Premium are coupe-only flagships with a tuned 500 hp V8.
America's Last Pony Car

The 2026 Mustang offers two engines, three states of tune, and the choice of 10-speed automatic or 6-speed manual transmission (V8 trims only). All Mustangs are rear-wheel drive.
2.3L EcoBoost I-4
Standard on EcoBoost and EcoBoost Premium. Turbocharged 4-cylinder with Modular Power Cylinder architecture. 10-speed automatic only — no manual offered for EcoBoost.
5.0L Coyote V8
Standard on GT and GT Premium. Naturally aspirated V8 with active exhaust available (bumps to 486 hp / 418 lb-ft). 6-speed manual or 10-speed automatic at no charge.
5.0L V8 Dark Horse Tune
Standard on Dark Horse and Dark Horse Premium. Tuned Coyote V8 with upgraded cooling. 10-speed automatic standard for 2026; 6-speed Tremec manual is +$300 option.

Fastback (Coupe)
Standard on every Mustang. Fixed roof provides max chassis rigidity for track-day performance. The classic Mustang silhouette since 1964.
Convertible
One-touch power-folding soft top. Available on EcoBoost, EcoBoost Premium, and GT Premium. Adds approximately $7,800 (EB) or $5,500 (Premium trims) over the fastback.
Dark Horse Coupe-Only
Dark Horse and Dark Horse Premium are coupe-only by design. The convertible body style reduces chassis rigidity required for track-spec performance.
