2026 — Current
Expanded Hybrid & Intelligent Oil-Life Monitor Maintenance
The 3.5L PowerBoost Hybrid is now available on more trims. Oil intervals remain up to 10,000 miles via IOLM. BlueCruise cameras and sensors now require annual cleaning and calibration checks as part of the recommended schedule. OTA software updates replace several previously manual calibration visits.
2024 — Major Refresh
New Headlights, Pro Access Tailgate & Revised Inspections New Gen Look
The 2024 facelift introduced new front-end components including revised LED headlight assemblies and the Pro Access Tailgate. Maintenance schedules gained a new inspection point for the swing-out tailgate hardware and hinges every 30,000 miles. The 3.3L base V6 and SuperCab/8' bed combination were discontinued, simplifying the engine maintenance matrix.
2023
Raptor R Added — Supercharged V8 Service Requirements Engine Change

The 3.0L Power Stroke diesel was discontinued. The 5.0L V8 received Active Cylinder Management, requiring updated oil specifications (full synthetic 5W-30 mandatory).

10-Speed Automatic Transmission DrivetrainMaintenance
The new 10-speed SelectShift automatic (co-developed with GM) uses a different transmission fluid specification than previous 6-speed units. The first scheduled transmission fluid change moved from 150,000 miles to closer inspection at 100,000 miles under severe-duty conditions. The shift to military-grade aluminum alloy body panels changed collision repair procedures but did not alter routine maintenance intervals. However, the Intelligent Oil-Life Monitor (IOLM) became standard, replacing fixed-interval oil changes with condition-based monitoring — extending intervals up to 10,000 miles for highway drivers versus 5,000 miles for severe-duty use. Full synthetic oil became mandatory for all EcoBoost engines. The 2.7L EcoBoost was added to the lineup.

The 11th generation introduced the 3-valve-per-cylinder 5.4L Triton V8 — powerful but notorious for spark plug seizure issues if not serviced strictly every 30,000 miles with approved plugs. Conventional oil was the standard; synthetic was optional. Oil changes every 5,000 miles were critical. Missing even one oil change on these engines accelerated cam phaser wear, a costly repair.
